It's cold out here in these parts,

with in sunny days and sun rays,

And some have a lump of coal in their hearts.

Blurred vision, blurred lines

Slurred speech, slow grind.

Ain't nothing great ever came instantaneous,

And I aint never won the lottery,

I refuse to let this cold social climate bother me.

Or idle me, I could go back to the old trifle me.  But that will stunt my growth and stifle me.

My bible be, a source of inspiration to spark the fight in me, uncover the light in me, expose the right in me.

While some keep squealing and squalling.

The shield against the brown is so appalling.

A moment of silence for the fallen.

I've fallen for the booby traps and snares and tricks.

I used to lie quick, now my sidekick confirms that I Spit.

My pen has a temp because I write sick.

My bad, where's the beatbox I thought I was writing a rap.

Remember the trifle me?

I put that back where the rifle be,

Back when everyone was liking me.

Now I can't buy a friend, the new me

won't bend or buck for the new trend.

Self-awareness and development is where it begins, and it doesn't end until it ends.

When the song fades out and the needle scratches,

And the wick burns out and there is no more matches.
